I miss seeing the Boathouse Cafe

by Susan

For many years I have walked the 'Peace Mile Walk' around the lake with my dogs or with friends and family.

Until recently I could admire the Boathouse Cafe from anywhere around the lake, unfortunately it burnt down in December 2012, it was an icon that everyone knew about not just because it is a Cafe but also because the main building was nearly as old as Lake Daylesford itself.

The 'Peace Mile Walk' is so interesting just about everytime I walk around the lake I notice something different or new happening. The lake has many moods depending on the weather, it can be beautiful or mystical. Beautiful sunsets or sunrises, windy or misty days or bright and sunny.

Unfortunately I didn't take any photos of the boathouse, I have added a few which I borrowed from my daughter.

by: Seb Ian

I have recently put an old family movie made in 1975 of Lake Daylesford onto YouTube. The video goes for about 8 minutes. If you wish to view it just go to YouTube and in the search box enter "seb ian daylesford" and you should see it. Enjoy. Seb Ian
